Assessments
Peter Hodgkinson has considerable experience in Occupational Health assessment. Over a number of years he has provided reports to HR/Personnel and Occupational Heath departments of businesses on employees about whom they are concerned.
These cases may involve staff undergoing long-term sickness or where stress in the workplace is a primary issue.
A reliable employee suddenly had a spell of sickness absence and a doctor's letter described him as "depressed". On assessment it transpired that an undiagnosed Irritable Bowel Syndrome had worsened creating anxiety that was making it difficult for the man to travel to work by public transport. Self-directed relaxation, cognitive exercises and a simple behavioural programme were sufficient to achieve return to work.
Key Individual Support
Peter also provides a service of support to key people within businesses in whom the organisation has a major interest concerning their continued effective functioning.
Key Individual Support is a blend of therapeutic work and mentoring.
A workaholic partner in a business is unable to cope with work following a marital breakdown and goes off sick. Within a week of an initial session she is back at work. Two subsequent sessions enable her to understand long-standing personal issues which kept her bound to a deteriorating relationship regardless. She proceeds to a divorce. Two final sessions enable her to establish a less stressful work/life balance. She is once more an effective contributor to the partnership.
